Accessibility Statement

We aim to make UPWARD Rooted usable for everyone.

Last reviewed: May 2026

Our commitment

UPWARD Rooted is committed to broad alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We believe meaningful integration and local connection should be accessible to the widest possible audience — including people who navigate the web with assistive technologies.

Scope

This statement applies to the UPWARD Rooted website at rooted.workupward.com and related pilot intake pages.

Measures taken

  • Semantic HTML structure with clear landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer).
  • Accessible heading hierarchy with a single H1 per page.
  • Skip-to-main-content link available on every page.
  • Full keyboard navigability with visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
  • Descriptive link and button text — no "click here" patterns or unlabeled icon-only controls.
  • Form inputs paired with visible labels, required-field indication, and accessible error messaging.
  • Sufficient color contrast on body text, navigation, and form controls.
  • Meaningful alternative text on content images; decorative imagery hidden from assistive technologies.
  • Reduced-motion support: transitions and reveal animations respect the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting.
  • Responsive layout with tap targets sized for mobile use.
  • Pages declare lang="en" and document titles unique per route.

Known limitations

UPWARD Rooted is an active pilot website and not yet independently audited by a third party. Some third-party embeds (e.g. external booking links) may not fully match our accessibility standard. We review these areas continuously and welcome feedback on anything we've missed.
